Defunkin’ The Funk about Developing Dynamic Iron Punch
Some martial arts have striking techniques in their school or system. That’s great. But what we need to talk about here is for those who don’t have striking power, and want to have something, in my opinion, no matter what martial art it is, you cant be able to go through with a technique and be able to knock down a person with a wet noodle.
You need a Striking technique. I advocate to you that you need to have a punching technique, a Fist of some kind, and a foot technique of some kind. But right now we are going to talk about the hand technique.
This is a very safe and inexpensive way to develop striking power. One of the things I was very concerned with when I used to train in the hard styles way back when was damaging my hands. I play several different Musial instruments. I didn’t want to lose the dexterity in my fingers. Especially today you do a lot of typing on the computers. So that was my main concern.
With this technique I’m going to teach you, this is a way or 1 way to develop a Dynamic Iron Punch, without messing up your hands. This is something you need to be very careful about. You need to back off if you are hitting too hard. Or if you aren’t hitting hard enough, you aren’t going to get the benefit of being able to really strike. This is going to develop a very strong and breaking punch that you can use in a street situation.
And this is especially for those of you doing the softer martial arts. To me it doesn’t matter, softer martial art, hard style, grappling, throwing, or anything else, you should have a Dynamic Punch or Iron strike or some sort of fist technique.
I want to show you this technique. Watch the video to learn how to develop the Dynamic Iron Punch.
