General Winter Tips
With winter approaching here are some tips
for making things go easier.
When walking on snow, ice, or slippery
surfaces, always keep your knees slightly bent (you should never keep your knees
locked anyway). This will keep you in a better position to recover from a
slip and will lessen any injury to your knees in case of a fall.
In order to stay warm, you should always
layer your clothing and wear a hat and gloves. A great percentage of your
body heat is lost through your uncovered head and hands.
You should also wear socks that will wick
the moisture away from your skin.
Remember to drink plenty of non-alcoholic
fluids. It is very easy to become dehydrated during the winter.
TIPS FOR SHOVELING SNOW
Always stretch out before shoveling, it is a
lot more strenuous then you think.
Keep your knees bent.
With your knees bent and in a "Horse
Stance", you should scoop up a shovel full of snow and twist your body
while throwing the snow over each shoulder.
We hope these tips keep you safe and warm
through the holiday season.
